Ferry to Ibiza
Being famous for the nightlife and dance or electronic music, Ibiza is home to many holiday makers looking to enjoy the club or party scene that lasts well into the next day. This however is not all that Ibiza has to offer and there is a surprising amount that people around the world do not really know about the beautiful Island. It is easily reachable by ferry that leaves from Denia or Barcelona. Also, inter-island connections between the Balearic Islands are regular and very convenient.
It is worthwhile to rent a car and tour the island as there are 57 beaches that Ibiza has to offer. Small shops, local cuisine and crystal-clear waters of the Balearic sea are some of the reasons to explore the island as well as the historical sights that it has to offer.
Cuisine
Originating in Ibiza, the dish known as Arroz de Matanzas is comprised of a combination of Chorizo, leftover pork, rice, saffron and nutmeg. This may be a traditional dish however there are variations where families have claimed to have Family recipes. This dish is also served best with a side salad and crusty bread. There can even be variations containing seafood as well.
Another dish typically found in Ibiza is Bullit de peix, which is a Fish stew composed of fish found in Ibiza such as monkfish, grouper and rotja. Served with Potato chips, then it is covered by a sauce comprising of the fish broth and garlic mayonnaise.
For dessert there is a bread pudding known as La Greixonera as well as a cheese tart known as Flaó Ibicenco.
What to see historically
Es Verda is a small uninhabited island of the coast of Ibiza and is worth a look for its majestic views and is shrouded in mystery and mythology. The energy surrounding the island is said to be similar to that of the Bermuda triangle, the great Pyramids of Giza as well as the Moai Statues of Easter Island. There are many more however, the beautiful views and sunsets make it a worthwhile stop when visiting Ibiza.
Dalt Villa which is the old fortified town was once one of the most important crucial cities in the Mediterranean, constructed to defend against the Ottomans and the French. Once inside you may wish to visit the main square known as Plaza d Vila.
Beaches
Even though Ibiza has 57 beaches, there are a few that are worth mentioning such as Cala d’Hort, Cala Benirrás, Playa de las Salinas, Cala d´en Serra and Cala Benirrás.
Nightlife

The oldest club on the Island is Pacha which was founded in 1973 and is still going strong. Wearing white at the White Party events is a tradition to represent the almond blossoms and the reflections of the sun on the water.
The main clubs in Ibiza are, Amnesia, Pacha, Space, Privilege, Eden and Es Paradis and which the largest is Privilege holding a maximum of 11000 people and has its own swimming pool.
Please note that a bottle of water can cost between €8 - €15 and entrance to some clubs can go from €10 - €80.
The times were much longer however, the government has stepped in to bring the closing times of clubs to 6am. These days the times for clubs are from midnight to 6am. Before this regulation change, one could have a party in Ibiza for 22 consecutive hours straight. Manumission played host to the Guinness Book of Records for the largest party in the World.
Just in case you wanted to get flashy, a VIP Table experience in an Ibiza club could cost you as much as €6000.
