What to Do on Koh Rong?

They are a range of activities on Koh Rong (namely the village of Koh Toch) such as, Ziplining, Kayaking, bird watching and walks through the jungle.

Planning your day can include a Longboat tour for as little as $10 per person which would include lunch while island hopping. If you have ever heard of the bioluminescence effect on the beach which is created by a special plankton in the evening, this can be seen as well if you included dinner as well. It truly is a wonderous site.

Sok San beach would be the chosen destination from Koh Toch during the high season which is from October to May. And in the low season the chosen beach to visit would be Coconut Beach. All beaches can be reached from the village of Koh Toch.

Koh Rong Cuisine?

Many small places are available around the island however, the Resorts and Bungalows have their own facilities. There are also unique options for dining with your “feet in the sand” if you wish.

Since the islands have become a travel destination of people from all over the world the cuisine has adapted to do the same. There are delights from all over the world from European to many other parts of the globe, including the local cuisine available in Koh Rong.

Getting some shut eye?

Even though it is an island, almost every form of accommodation has WIFI and electricity. What a savvy traveler would need to look out for is the high or peak season which would be during December and January as without proper planning, most places are fully booked. Not to worry entirely as there is also the option of renting a Hammock to get some rest.

Koh Toch main village was once the only place of accommodation however, with the influx of tourists over the recent years the island has become very developed gearing towards the backpacking community, with backpacker resorts along the coast.

As for the island as a whole, there are many places that can accommodate travelers and holiday makers. The Island has a large backpacking community and crowd as well as guesthouses along Coconut Beach, another very popular spot.

The cheaper option would be Sok San Beach were the accommodation, beer and food are quite affordable however, this would not be available during the rainy season.
